Back to Basics…?

Before thinking of innovation, a brand must always make sure that its “basics” are in order!

Here are just two examples of what the “basics” are all about…

First, a brand is not a logo. If you disagree, let’s talk!

On the other hand, your organization itself is a brand… and as an “organization-as-brand,” it also has an “organizational culture” that sets it apart from all others operating in the same sector.

But what if brandstory were to ask a handful of your own stakeholders (i.e. your own managers and employees) to describe your “organizational culture,” what would they tell us? Would they all tell us the same thing? If so – great! Or – as is more likely – would we hear a variety of attempts to share what your own people think about your organization’s culture?

And if that is the case?? If your own people are not all on the same page when it comes to what really sets your brand apart from your key competition, what would be your conclusion? We would call it, as a minimum, “a lost opportunity!” A lost opportunity to help ensure that your organization is viewed as “an employer of choice!”

Sounds pretty “basic,” doesn’t it?

Which brings us to a discussion of “innovation” – as in, how can the leaders in any organization make sure that all of their team members are not only on the same page when it comes to “organizational culture,” but that they are also enthusiastically “on the same page!”

Yes – and you’ve suspected that this was coming – your organization can gain a competitive advantage by inviting brandstory to help you develop your own Strategic Brand Story™… so that all of your stakeholders – both internal and external – are on the same page, and proud of it! Whew.

One might even call this “taking unfair advantage” of the basics! Or not?

Let’s just agree to call this “food for thought!” And if you are intrigued enough to want to know more about what brandstory has been doing for more than twenty years now, you are in the right place. Going beyond the basics!

And we’d love to talk!
